Why Start at Age 5?
At Kaehkēnawapahta͞eq, we only accept applications for children entering our 5-year-old classroom. This policy is essential to the success of our Montessori-style program and the Menominee-centered educational experience we provide.
Shared Learning Foundations: Beginning together at age 5 ensures that children progress as a cohesive cohort, learning at a similar pace in language and experiential education.
Focused Learning Environment: This approach avoids disparities that can arise when children enter with varying levels of preparation, creating an environment where all children feel supported and capable.
Encouraging Community: Starting together builds a close-knit classroom culture, where students form strong relationships and support one another as they grow.
This foundational year is critical in creating a learning environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and culturally.
